At least eight students were injured in a blast in University of Karachi (UoK) on Tuesday.
According to details, the powerful blast occurred in a lawn near Cafeteria.At least eight people were injured in the blast. The injured have been shifted to hospital.
Police and rangers cordoned off the site immediately after the blast and conducted search operation.
The students staged protest against the security conditions in the University.
SP Raja Omar Khitab said that 1-kg explosive used in the blast. He said that it was a time device and installed in a tree.
Karachi University remained closed for three days. This was announced by the Registrar of the institution. However, the exams was postponed.
